Stately Homes near Salisbury

“Sitting on the banks of the Avon watching the trout and grayling going about their business in the gin clear waters”.

Five minutes drive or a charming hike along the famous ‘Monarchs way’ brings you to the gates of Heale house. Nestling in the heart of the wonderful Avon valley in gives guests at Grayling house a chance to take in a little gem. The house itself provides the perfect backdrop to the wonderful multi layered gardens with its Japanese tea house.

The gardens themselves make the very most of their environment, sitting as they do on carriers and braids of anglings legendary river Avon. Whenever you go there you will always be pleasantly surprised as the gardens have been lovingly nurtured to show all seasons to their best advantage.

The tea room is a firm favourite of ours, a great place to have a bite to eat or a cuppa, sitting on the banks of the Avon watching the trout and grayling going about their business in the gin clear waters.
